Weekly Recaps
Post-round write-ups from the commissioner
With the Putter-In-Hand league at the half-way-point of the 2017 season, odds makers from Cheektovegas have started to publish the leagues weekly odds. Putters are able to bet on themselves prior to teeing off. Profits go to the end of the year party.
Here are the week-5 odds:
| YTD Ranking | Name | Analysis | Week-5 Odds |
| 1 | Tom Barbops | Heavy favorite every week; makes few mistakes; steady | 3-1 |
| 2 | Shawn Conschafter | Holes in one help; his drinking hurts; trending down since week-3 | 5-1 |
| 3 | Jeff Hewett | Cheats even if he doesn't need to; two 2nd place finishes in '17; he's due | 3-1 |
| 4 | John Coyle | No one has ever won back to back; not choking was an aberration | 9-1 |
| 5 | Tony Rotella | Only player in the top-6 not to win a jacket; he's due to put a week together | 4-1 |
| 6 | Jeff Luke | In the thick of it every week but has faltered as of late; can't ace a hole; commish can't bet | Off |
| 7 | Dean Trzewieczynski | Pre-putted; didn't have a chance anyhow; still on his honeymoon | Off |
| 8 | Jay Flemming | Pre-putted; is due to not tie for 2nd and win a jacket | Off |
| 9 | Jim Neville | Finished in the top-5 one time in his career; sleeper to make a move the 2nd half of the season | 7-1 |
| 10 | Scott Wilson | Has finished in the money once in his career; histoy has shown he doesn't have the stamina for 18 | 7-1 |
| 11 | Bryan An | Pre-putted; trending downward; likely a 15-1 in week-6 | Off |
| 12 | Brian Kimpel | Taking a year off has hurt his game; not in game shape; needs to show more dedication | 9-1 |
| 13 | Scott Mason | Like his lawn mower: not reliable as of late; hasn't shown the dedication to the league in twenty-seventeen | 7-1 |
| 14 | Tim Roesch | Has the skills but not the mental fortitude; hasn't recovered from Wilson's ranking that CTB has the 9th best meat in WNY | 10-1 |
| 15 | Tim Remy | Hasn't played well since week-1 of 2015; has no game on or off the course; Little Mr. Remyr comment still stings | 8-1 |
| 16 | Joe Neeson | Hasn't been a contender since week-4 & 5 of 2016; needs to show he's got game; until then he's a middle of the pack guy | 7-1 |
| 17 | Scott Verost | Cheektovegas is convinced he doesn't play to win; it shows; nothing wrong with that but the odds are against him | 10-1 |
| 18 | Harald Rehm | The house capped the odds at 20-1; off the strip odds makers have Rehm at 100-1; even with those odds I wouldn't touch him | 20-1 |
| 19 | Steve Steck | Before week-4's 41 with 4 holes in one Steck was a 20-1 putter; last week's athletic return has odds makers questioning who Steck really is | 10-1 |
