Post-round write-ups from the commissioner

TONAWANDA, NY – November 13, 2025 will forever be remembered as “Dominic’s Day” as league favorite Dom LoVallo finally achieves his childhood dream. After years of grinding, dreaming, and reminding the league weekly that he was “due,” Dom captured his first career Green Jacket — and The Grill exploded with the loudest applause ever recorded for a jacket winner.

Even the bartenders clapped. One may have cried.

Dom, wearing sweatpants, no shirt, and the illustrious green jacket, said it was the greatest moment of his PIH career…maybe his life.

“Green has always been my color,” he said. “Money, gang, and this jacket. My three favorite things.”

It was an emotional night. Dom choked up several times, saying his girl in Thailand would be proud. “She always believed in me,” he said, holding the jacket like a VIP pass to heaven. “She always says “any-ting you want you get’ and this green jacket is what I wanted most…besides a handy and a massage but that’s the off-season. This is putting season!”

His Aunt Kelly Caito was overwhelmed with pride. “That’s my boy,” she said, wiping away a tear. “I knew he had it in him. Took long enough, but he did it. Dominic was born to wear that thing. And honestly? Look at him. He wears it better than those asshats from Grand Island ever did.”

John Boy, Dom’s bodyguard and hype man, was also in attendance. “That’s my little buddy!” John Boy shouted. “I got to see it live! I got to witness history! He told me someday he’d win a jacket, and I told him, ‘Dom Boy, I believe in you more than I believe in any scratch-off ticket.’ And now look, you did it little buddy!”

After fully absorbing the moment — and several shots purchased by strangers — Dom issued a challenge. “I’m coming for the belt next,” he said while pointing across the bar. “Coyle, you better look out. I’m using this red flag right here… on YOU.”

Dom having a red flag going into a week-7 major has Coyle and the rest of the crew atop the league on notice as it is poised to give Commissioner Luke the controversy he intended to bring to the league with the introduction of the Red Flags this season. And that is saying a lot given the noise it created in week-6.

First, John Coyle threw a flag at Tom Barbops early in the round, only to have Barbops respond like a man possessed, holing out AGAIN — his second straight hole-in-one on hole-7.

This one-two punch of pettiness and excellence led to a new rule that will be in place in 2026:

If you throw a flag and the offended player immediately sinks another hole-in-one, their score becomes a 0 and you, the flag-thrower, receives a 1-stroke penalty on the round.

The flag throwing didn’t end there. Coyle became a victim a few holes later. A flag he DID NOT appreciate. The flag thrown at Coyle was thrown by his own teammate, Dave Donn — the same guy who has held onto that flag for like 4 weeks. The flag thrown by Donn cost Coyle two strokes and erased his hole-in-one. Pending a post-putt by Bill Shaflucas, the flag may have also eliminated Team Coyle from the teams competition. Coyle was not happy after the round saying “You don’t treat the greatest putter in league history like that. You just don’t. The Neeson Crime Family has no respect for the league.”

He then pointed to the east like a general addressing a battlefield and added: “The Neeson Crime Family is on alert. I’m coming for you.”

As if the Red Flag controversy wasn’t enough controversy for the week, a new rule was immediately put in place after another “35+3” score was reported by a Team Grand Island member. The “Never Neville” rule has been passed which states “No putter shall pre or post putt with Jim Neville and only Jim Neville. Any such round reported will be considered null and void. The PIH Press caught up with Neville outside The Grill and asked for comments but unfortunately an interpreter was not present and Neville’s response of “I prefer ranch over blue cheese” was discarded and assumed “lost in translation”.

With week-7 major approaching, Coyle sits in 1st in the FedEx Cup standings followed by Mike Mondoux, Shawn Conschafter, Jeff Hewett, Chris Wilkinson, Tom Barbops, Justin Bridenbaker, and Jeff Luke rounding out the top-8. Knocking on the FedEx Cup door is Alex Keil, Joe Neeson, and a surprisingly good Steve Maziarz. With 4 weeks to play, the belt and the championship is still up for grabs.
